BMW has officially released new photos of its flagship electric vehicle, the BMW i7, which is being tested in hot regions. The purpose of this test is reported to be to monitor battery performance in high temperature areas and to carry out temperature resistance tests in the interior. Not so long ago, we recall, the car was tested at the Arctic Circle.
Official photos show that the test car is covered in heavy camouflage, so there are no details on the design yet. Only general shapes and similarities with the BMW 7 Series are guessed. The BMW i7 is expected to retain the huge grille that EVs don’t need like the BMW i4. To differentiate itself more clearly from the petrol sedan, the new car will receive various design elements on the body.

The BMW i7 lineup is expected to have three models: the base i740, the mid-range i750 and the top-end i7 M60. The maximum power of the i740 can reach 543 hp, while the i7 M60 can exceed 660 hp. At the same time, the i740 may be the only model with rear wheel drive.
In terms of battery capacity and range, the i740 and i750 will receive rechargeable batteries from 80 to 100 kWh, while the top-end i7 M60 will get a 120 kWh battery. The range of the older version will be up to 700 km. For the younger version i740 with an 80 kW • h battery, the cruising range will be about 470 km.

The flagship pure electric BMW i7 is expected to be officially unveiled next year.
