The expectation for tourism in the second half is an increase in sales, according to data collected by the Ministry of Tourism.
Seven out of ten (71.5%) agencies and operators estimate a greater demand from tourists by the end of the year. In terms of revenue, 67.7% of entrepreneurs expect an increase in earnings in the same period.
The data are from the Business Survey Survey with Tourism Agencies and Operators in Brazil, carried out by the Ministry of Tourism between May and June 2022.
The objective is to map the performance and perspective of these establishments in the country.
“The Tourism sector in Brazil registers, every day, positive numbers, such as the expansion of financial transactions, the creation of formal vacancies and a growing flow at airports and bus terminals. Proof that tourism is recovering and is an important economic activity that generates employment, income and development for the country”, says the minister of tourism, Carlos Brito.
Those responsible for travel agencies who are most confident about the increase in travel and revenue are in the south of the country.
In Paraná, the expectation is for an increase of 81.8% in the demand for services and 76.9% in terms of revenue growth.
Then there are the entrepreneurs who work in the states of Santa Catarina, with 74.6% and 73.1%, respectively.
Among national destinations, the preference is for places with sun and beach. According to the study, the segment motivates 45% of trips, followed by nature/ecotourism (13.5%), business and work (11.4%) and culture/historical heritage (10.4%).
Eight of the 10 most popular destinations are coastal cities. Among them are Fortaleza, Porto Seguro, Maceió and Rio de Janeiro. However, the first place on the list is Gramado, in Rio Grande Do Sul.
Most people who sought agencies and operators to travel were couples with children, corresponding to 39.5% of tourists.
Another 26.7% traveled with a spouse or boyfriend, 21.1% with some other relative or with friends and another 12.9% looked for an agency to travel alone.
The survey also points out that for 54% of the agencies consulted, the perspective is of stability in terms of the number of employees.
Another 34.9% expect an increase in hiring, while 11.2% believe in a fall.
