76% of singles expect to flirt more this summer, poll finds

The nearly two years of the Covid-19 pandemic and, consequently, of the measures of social isolation made Brazilians want to know other people even more.

A survey by Inner Circle, the global dating app, shows that 76 percent of singles expect to flirt more this summer, compared to the same time in previous years. The survey, which was released this week, had the participation of two thousand people.

“People who have complied with isolation protocols in the last almost two years are excited to go back to meetings, despite the fear that the epidemiological situation will worsen due to new variants and that it will be necessary to spend another period in isolation”, emphasizes one excerpt from the research.

Love encounters, however, will only be possible thanks to advances in vaccination against the new coronavirus in the country, according to the survey.

That’s because 82% of single Brazilians say they are only willing to meet other people because of the good vaccination coverage obtained in Brazil.

“We have lived for a long time in a pandemic moment and, as a result, people want and need to reconnect with others, this is a fact, not only in Brazil but worldwide.

People, after this isolated time, want to feel welcomed by others again, we are social beings, we need to talk and interact”, highlights the psychologist, Heidi Araújo.

The survey also shows that for 60% of singles in Brazil, having the full Covid-19 vaccination schedule is a non-negotiable prerequisite for holding the meeting.

Currently, more than 90% of the vaccinated population received at least one dose of the immunizing agent. Already 80% of the population took two doses of the vaccine, which corresponds to 139.4 million people.

Number of marriages collapse and divorces increase

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of civil marriage records in Brazil fell by an average of 26.1%, compared to moments before the health crisis.

This is the biggest drop in the historical series of Civil Registry Statistics from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), which began in 1974.

In the other direction, the number of divorces increased by more than 50%, according to a survey by the Colégio Notarial do Brasil (CNB/CF).
