8 injured in Israeli raid on Hezbollah weapons depots in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley – Two are children

The Israeli military confirmed late Monday night, August 19, that it hit a Hezbollah weapons depot in the Bekaa Valley, in eastern Lebanon. Explosions followed, indicating the “presence of large quantities of weapons at the affected facilities,” the Israeli military statement said. Lebanon’s health ministry said six Lebanese and two Syrian children were injured. The state-run Agricultural Research Institute announced it would close its research stations in the Bekaa Valley for security reasons after unexploded projectiles fell a short distance from the facilities. On Saturday 8/17, the Israeli military reported hitting a Hezbollah weapons depot in the southern Lebanese city of Nabataiah. According to the Lebanese News Agency (NNA), the attack claimed the lives of 10 people, including two children.
