Six people were shot during an attack on a bar, in Coelho da Rocha, in São João do Meriti, in Baixada Fluminense, on Thursday night (1).
According to the Military Police, agents from the 21st Battalion were called directly to the Jardim Íris Emergency Care Unit to check the entrance of victims of gunshots.
Upon arriving at the scene, police confirmed the presence of six people shot, including an 8-year-old child, who was transferred to the Éden Children’s Hospital. The other five victims were transferred to the Adão Pereira Nunes Hospital.
A CNN tried to contact the Rio de Janeiro State Health Department to find out more information about the victims, but had not received a response by the time this article was published.
The incident was reported to the 64th Police Station in São João do Meriti, which is investigating the case.
