80 years by Hiroshima: A minute’s silence in memory of victims – call for global action against nuclear

Hiroshima was held today for a minute’s silence, just as 80 years ago the city was hit by the atomic bomb as part of the annual memory ceremony. More than a hundred countries participated in the event, and the ritual took place in a climate of tension due to the deterioration of US and Russia relations. On August 6, 1945, at 08:15, the US Armed Forces hit Hiroshima by atomic bomb, killing about 140,000 people. Three days later, a second atomic bomb was thrown by an American aircraft in Nagasaki, in the southern part of Japan, killing another 74,000 people. These bombings, which have exited the end of World War II, are the only cases in history used in war weapons in times of war.
