840 km without recharging. Lucid Air rival Tesla launches this month

After a long wait, Lucid has confirmed that production of an all-electric vehicle called the Lucid Air is already underway. The vehicles are assembled at the Lucid plant in Arizona, and the first deliveries to customers begin in October.

It is unclear exactly how many Lucid Air electric vehicles have rolled off the assembly line at this time, but more than 13,000 pre-orders are known. Lucid Air’s premium electric sedans began rolling off the assembly line on September 28 at an event called AMP-1, and the plant was also commissioned on the same day.

During the event, customers, investors and media representatives were given the opportunity to ride on Lucid Air. Lucid said that those who ordered the Air Dream Edition will begin receiving vehicles in late October. Other Air models will then begin production, including the Grand Touring, Touring and Air Pure. In addition, the automaker has confirmed that it has increased the total production of the Dream Edition to 520 units. This version will allow you to travel 840 km without recharging. For comparison: the autonomy of the Tesla Model S Long Range electric vehicle barely exceeds 650 km.

Lucid is also currently expanding the capacity of its plant located in Casa Grande, Arizona. Production of the Gravity SUV is expected to begin in 2023.
