89-year-old teacher creates her own teaching method and helps hundreds of children in Puerto Rico

The vocation for a job is not something that is taught in schools, but it is something that is carried in the heart and develops over time. Proof of this is the incessant work of Lilia María Rivera Morales, 89, who, despite the health crisis and her advanced age, continues to teach children from Puerto Rico.

But this is not all. The teacher Lilia created her own teaching method, helping hundreds of children not only pass their subjects, but also acquire knowledge in a simple and fun way. This made it worthy of the respect of the entire internet.

Lilia María Rivera Morales, originally from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, may have retired in the 1990s. However, she decided to continue working and sharing her knowledge regardless of her advanced age. During the covid-19 pandemic, he had to learn to use new technologies and adapt to online classes, something that was not easy but it allowed him to have a little free time.

At that time he wrote and explicitly detailed the teaching method that he has used since 1973 and with which he has made hundreds of children literate. This is based on listening and observing the phonetics of the letters and, most importantly, paying special attention to the needs of each student, focusing on their virtues, aptitudes and abilities to generate confidence, as well as a good environment that allows them express your doubts and participate.

Lilia has worked tirelessly for 60 years, has taught several generations in her country to read and has also been the principal of several schools. In addition, she has acquired new knowledge such as English and French, something that was a dream for her.
