One day after lowering gasoline and diesel prices to distributors, Petrobras also reduced Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), cooking gas, a change that takes effect this Thursday (8). The value per kilo will go from R$ 3.5837 to R$ 3.2337, down 9.7%.
According to the company, for the 13-kilogram cylinder, the impact will be R$ 4.55, with the average price to distributors at R$ 42.04.
“This reduction accompanies the evolution of reference prices and is consistent with Petrobras’ pricing practice, which seeks to balance its prices with the market, but without passing on to domestic prices the conjunctural volatility of quotations and the exchange rate ”, announced Petrobras in a note.
Data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels show that the 13-kilogram cylinder is found in the country at an average of R$ 109.85.
Petrobras’ last reduction in LPG had taken place on November 16, when the kilo went from R$ 3.7842 to R$ 3.5842. At the time, the average price was R$110.19, also according to the balance sheet released by the ANP.
The National Union of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distribution Companies (Sindigás) informed that it does not manifest itself on prices and that they are free in all links of the chain.
“The consumer plays an important role in the purchase of LPG, because unlike products with controlled prices, it is up to the consumer at the time of purchasing the product to search for the best service and value offer, within the brands with which he relates and the resellers with the who are familiar and trusted”, he disclosed in a note.
The Brazilian Association of Representative Entities of LP Gas Resellers (Abragás) alleges that distributors have not been passing on the reductions in full. “If this happens again, there may not be a reduction in the same proportion announced for consumers”, he also put in a note. THE CNN questioned Sindigás about the statement, which preferred not to comment.
The entity that represents the resellers points out that the reduction should also not be felt in areas of private refineries. According to the entity, Acelen, which manages the Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM), did not lower the value. The Manaus Refinery, which belongs to the Atem group, made an increase earlier this month, in the amount of R$ 0.84 per kilogram of LPG.
“Abragás understands that prices are free at all links in the chain, and the segment can price products and services according to the operating costs of each company in different regions of the country”, he added.
