9 cocktail low alcol da bere quest’estate

Low alcohol password. The great classics are revisited with a twist that lightens the original recipe, managing to keep the taste unchanged. The new summer drinks are born from low-alcohol references, created specifically for mixology from unusual combinations of botanicals, from new experiments or even from the distillation of beer.

THE NEW LOW ALCOHOL DRINK
Forerunner the de-alcoholic sparkling wine, produced with Riesling grapes in South Tyrol by Marco Foradori, patron of Hofstätter, in June of this year.

A few weeks earlier it was the turn of Baladin with a limited edition of aperitifs, with original liqueurs from beer distillate.

Still beer, with zero alcohol content, with Angelo Poretti which proposes the 4Hops Zero.Zero, while Caribbean Company and Maison Ferrand they are organizing a contest, where the participants will create a low alcohol aperitif and where the awarded cocktail will become a ready to drink, distributed by the Piedmontese company.

I COCKTAIL
«The new category of non-alcoholic cocktails“, explains Giancarlo Mancino, one of the most awarded bartenders in the world, “Is the challenge that awaits us”. He has in fact created six “ready to drink”, inspired by the most classic Italian tradition, whose names immediately evoke a vaguely retro atmosphere: Puccini, Rossini, Tintoretto, Raspini, Mimosa and Bellini, the latter also available in a non-alcoholic version, the BelliNO, based on Moscato grape must and peach puree.

In London Illogical drinks, a start-up, has produced the world’s first low-calorie, ultra-low alcohol content botanical blend that contains, among others, basil, sage and thyme and is a vegan, sugar-free and zero-carbohydrate drink.

And then there is Gino°, the low alcohol drink of Sabatini, producer of gin from the Cortona area, is proof that the challenge Mancino talks about can be won. It quickly became the basic ingredient for several cocktails: da Zero, by Carlo Simbula – bartender from Bioesserì – where it is accompanied by a simple mango and habanero puree, Giusti Sabagino12, with lemon, sage and sugar and an unexpected Giusti Balsamic Vinegar, for an aromatic twist, to Ginofizz, the raspberry version – light and vegan – of Gin Fizz.

Another version of Gin Fizz, the Franco’s Fizz, named after the Positano bar where it is served, is the work of Mattia Pastori, bartender of www.nonsolococktails.com, who adds the low alcohol notes of Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto and the sweetness of almond milk to the classic recipe.
