The 9-year-old girl, who was submerged for seven minutes in a hotel swimming pool, at the end of last month, in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, died last Wednesday (4), the same day that would be 10 years old.
THE CNN found that the girl had been in a coma and admitted to a hospital since November 23rd.
Wanted, the hotel Royal Palm Plaza Resort lamented the child’s death and stated that he continues to provide support to the girl’s family. “At this time of immense pain, our thoughts and prayers are with the family, to whom we express our most sincere condolences and solidarity. We continue to offer the necessary support and assistance to the family, respecting their privacy”, highlighted the local advisor.
Remember the case
A 9-year-old child was submerged for 7 minutes in a hotel swimming pool in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, late in the afternoon on the 23rd of last month.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that the victim’s father went to the police station to report what happened, two days after the drowning. The child was rescued by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to Mario Gattinho Hospital, a pediatric unit in the city.
The Fire Department reported that three vehicles were called, at 6:48 pm, to respond to the incident at the luxury hotel.
The girl was in cardiorespiratory arrest (CRA) and not breathing when the agents arrived. Two doctors were already on site providing first aid. The situation was stabilized at 7:43 pm, when the victim was taken to the hospital.
The Royal Palm Plaza reported that the girl was trapped in a “specific device for returning water from a waterfall in the main pool”, which has already been diagnosed for evaluation.
On the 26th, the police carried out an investigation on the premises and this incident was registered as a bodily injury in the 2nd DP of Campinas, which is investigating the case.
