A 9-year-old girl was shot in the face this Saturday, 16, in Vila Kennedy, a favela in the north of Rio de Janeiro.
The bullet hit the child’s left eye, who was rescued and is hospitalized at the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, in the center of the city.
According to the Municipal Health Department, the girl’s health status is considered stable. She is hospitalized for observation.
The case is being investigated. The Military Police reported, in a statement, that “there was no operation or armed confrontation involving our teams in the Vila Kennedy Community last Saturday”.
Group loot supermarket
A supermarket was looted by several people on Saturday night, 16, in Inhaúma, also in the north of Rio de Janeiro.
Videos circulating on social media show groups leaving with boxes of products and shopping carts loaded, as well as overturned shelves and products scattered on the floor.
The case took place in a supermarket on the Inter da Estrada Adhemar Bebiano network. PM agents were called and arrived at the scene around 8 pm, when the group that was looting dispersed. Nobody was arrested.
Also according to the PM, those responsible for the supermarket “were to report the facts in a police record at the police station later”. Estadão Conteúdo has not yet been able to contact the Inter network.
