A woman from Mali gave birth to nine babies yesterday – two more than doctors had found in her womb.
Her pregnancy Cisse rugs, 25 years old, fascinated the state of West Africa and attracted the attention of the country’s leaders. When doctors said in March that Cisse needed special care, authorities sent her to Morocco, where she gave birth.
“The newborns (five girls and four boys) and the mother are all fine,” Mali Health Minister Fanda Sibi said in a statement.
According to AMPE, Cisse was expected to give birth to seven babies, according to the ultrasounds performed in Morocco and Mali, but which did not locate two of the siblings. Everything was born by caesarean section.
