A 38-year-old American woman with the longest female beard was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records

A 38-year-old American woman was written in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest female beard.

The 38-year-old Erin Honeycutt, “cut off” the habit of shaving three times a day and as reported in the Guinness World Records, managed to grow a beard at least 30 centimeters long, managing to be written in the list of the strangest records on the planet.

As reported, Erin’s heavy hair growth is mainly due to the polycystic ovary syndrome she suffers from.

According to the Guardian, this syndrome is considered one of the common endocrinological diseases and affects a large percentage of women worldwide.

This endocrine disorder has as a possible symptom intense hair growth, which enabled the 38-year-old to conquer this strange record, without the help of hormones or other nutritional supplements.

Erin has been trying to control the particular symptom that has plagued her since her early teenage years, with frequent shaving, waxing and other methods.

But when she lost a lot of her sight due to an eye problem caused by high blood pressure, she decided to stop shaving, following her husband’s advice to accept her appearance as it is.

As she reports, during the pandemic period, using a mask helped her grow a beard with confidence.

It is noted that the previous record for the longest female beard (with a length of 25.5 cm) was held by 77-year-old Vivian Wheeler.
