A 38-year-old raped underage students in exchange for… electronic cigarettes

Residents of a small Tennessee town in the United States were shocked when a woman was accused of having sex and raping at least nine high school and college students aged 14 to 17. According to police reports, in return, among other things, he gave them electronic cigarettes.

The New York Post reports that Melissa Blair, 38, was arrested last week and charged with 18 counts. rapewhile facing four categories for human trafficking through prostitution, inciting a minor to sexual acts.

According to McMinn County Sheriff, there are at least nine confirmed victims with incidents occurring between the spring of 2020 and the end of 2021 among students at McMinn Central High School in Englewood.

Sex in exchange for electronic cigarettes

Parents told the local WTVC-TV station that Blair approached the boys who were interested in her and offered them various material rewards for their sexual services, such as e-cigarettes.

Authorities believe there may be other victims. Englewood police have launched an investigation into the 38-year-old woman over an anonymous letter she received from the principal of the school where the students were attending. Blair is neither a teacher nor a school worker, but she did raise money for a school before her own child changed schools.

The mother of one of the victims says: “We are devastated. I have no words to describe the range of emotions we feel at the moment. “People usually focus on the perpetrator and forget about the negative impact these events have on families.”

Blair was released on $ 100,000 bail and is due to appear in court on February 28.
