A 6-year-old girl’s decomposing body was found in the foster family’s backyard

A macabre discovery was made by police officers in the backyard of a family, as they found the decomposing body of the 6-year-old they had adopted a few years ago. The incident happened in Rose Hill, Kansas, when police received a call from a family about an adult threatening to harm himself. The New York Post wrote that details of the case have deliberately not been officially released, with reports saying officers arrived to reports of a “possible homicide” and “possibly a body.” Digging in the family’s backyard, they discovered the body of 6-year-old Kennedy Jean Schroer, who died in November 2020 and had been adopted along with her brother two years earlier by Christa Helm, who lost custody in 2018.
