A body found in the Natisone: it could be the body of Cristian Casian Molnar

“We found it a little further downstream from the point where the three boys were dragged” explained Luca Cari, head of emergency communications of the National Fire Brigade at the Corriere della Sera. “Recovery by our men is underway.” Almost a month after the tragic May 31st, the day on which Cristian Casian Molnar he had gone to celebrate the end of his exams with his girlfriend Bianca Doros, 23 years old, and to her friend Patrizia Cormos, 20 years old (their bodies were found on 2 June, one 700 meters from the riverbed and the other a little further away, about a kilometre), in the area called Premariacco beach, on the Natisone river, also the body of Cristian, last missing person would be found. Official identification is still missing but it seems to be very probable.

According to what the researchers report, the body was not very far from the Roman Bridge of Premariacco, where the boys were surprised by the flood of the river and from where they started calling for help. On May 31st, when the Fire Brigade arrived on site alerted by some passers-by who had seen the three friends in danger, the firefighters intervened immediately by first launching small boats from the bridge, as reported by the Courier then inviting the boys to stay close: «Make masses, masses». A few moments later, the islet on which the boys had hugged each other trying to resist the flood current disappeared. And it was not possible for the firefighters to do anything else: “They slipped away from us.”

Since May 31, the searches have continued unabated. Cristian’s family members themselves, together with his brother Petru Radu who was with the researchers day and night along the banks of the Natisone, asked to do everything possible in the hope of finding the boy still alive. The family is now waiting for official recognition. “Until we have the certainty that it is poor Cristian, I don’t want to comment too much,” he explained to the Courier Gaetano Laghi, lawyer of the Molnar family. «Also because I have to protect his brother Petru Radu who for three weeks from dawn to night went down to the Natisone with the teams hoping to find his brother alive».
