“A Brazilian in love with Brazil.” This is how presenter Luciano Huck summarized the life and trajectory of businessman Abilio Diniz, who died last Sunday (18) in São Paulo at the age of 87.
“Abilio was passionate. A passionate entrepreneur. A passionate businessman, a passionate father, a passionate husband, a Brazilian in love with Brazil”, said Huck during the businessman's wake, which is being held at the MorumBIS stadium, in the south of São Paulo.
In Huck’s opinion, Abilio left “a huge contribution to the country in recent decades”. “A man who was always concerned with being a leader who inspired Brazil as a whole.”
Huck also said that Abilio was “tireless in his thinking about the country and tireless in building his family”.
“As a friend, I miss him enormously. As a Brazilian, I am grateful for having always thought about the country. And, as someone who believes in entrepreneurship as part of the solution to things, I think Abilio will always be a light and a reference to be followed”, concluded Huck.
Abilio Diniz was admitted to the Albert Einstein hospital and suffered respiratory failure due to pneumonitis. The wake takes place until 3pm in the stadium's main hall.
The businessman had six children, eighteen grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren. His youngest son, Miguel, was born in 2009, when the businessman was 72 years old. He also faced a personal tragedy with the death of his son João Paulo, aged 58, in 2022.
In addition to his success in the business world, Abilio has led programs in recent years in CNN where he welcomed businesspeople, politicians and important names from civil society to discuss and rethink the paths to economic and social development in our country.
