German Foreign Minister Analena Burbock, who is visiting Athens, took a clear position on the sovereignty of the Greek islands in the Aegean during her joint statements with Nikos Dendias.
“The islands of the Aegean are Greek territory and no one has the right to question that,” clarified the head of German diplomacy.
“My government will not allow there to be any doubt that we stand in solidarity,” he added.
The issue of German reparations, but also the export of German submarines to Turkey, was clearly raised by the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“For the Greek government and Greek society, the issue of German reparations remains open,” Mr. Dendias pointed out.
He noted that its regulation is a matter of principle, it will be mutually beneficial for both countries and will significantly improve Greek-German relations.
