A Canadian billionaire accused of dozens of rapes will be tried in the US

The Canadian billionaire and never again a fashion mogul Peter Nygard, charged with sexual assaults against dozens of women, including minors, agreed to be extradited to the US, a court in Canada.

The crimes attributed to him were committed in the period 1990-2020. During this period, the accused and his alleged accomplices, including employees of his group, “used violence, fraud and coercion in order to succeed in having sex with women and minors,” the indictment states.

This morning, during the hearing, Toronto police further announced that they had issued an arrest warrant against Peter Nygard for six counts of sexual abuse and three for unlawful detention, according to the press release. The events unfolded between 1986-2006.
