A children’s show with naked adults answering questions provokes reactions

Before it even aired on television, Salos has launched a children’s show in the Netherlands, which aims to promote a positive image of the human body. The reactions are due to the fact that they appear on the show naked adults, who answer children’s questions about the body.

The show Simply Naked shows some adults with different bodies, which answer the questions of children 10 to 12 years old on issues such as whether there are some points that make us ashamed or about shaving in relation to waxing.

Reactions on social media vary, with some calling the show “disgusting” and others “educational”, while even politicians have taken a stand, criticizing. One of them is MP Tunahan Kuzu, who called the show “ridiculous” and urged his followers to send an email to the state broadcaster. Ολλανδίας NPO to stop broadcasting. For his part, far-right politician Thierry Baudet commented that “it is close to promoting pedophilia”, as reported by dutchnews.nl.

Others commented that the show “is not something normal and should not be done”, while the issue may reach the Parliament.

According to presenter Edson da Graça, the more realistic image of the body promotes a more positive image of ourselves. “The purpose is to find out children that every body is different and that not all bodies are perfect “.

Elsbeth Reitzema from the Rutgers Sexual Health Foundation, who helped create the show’s concept, said Photoshop-processed or semi-pornographic images that children see every day on TV and the Internet distort reality. The programs could be a good way for parents to raise the issue with their children, he continued.

NTR, the state channel that will broadcast the show, said the show was “very carefully planned”. “The children knew exactly what was going to happen and could tell how they were feeling at any given time. We were expecting some reactions. Not everyone will think it’s OK and that’s okay. “Parents will decide if their children will see it,” said a spokesman.

The first episode of the show is expected to air on March 21 on NTR.
