A critical Telegram update has been released for Huawei and HONOR. Update urgently

Since its launch in 2013, Telegram has used the int32 value storage system, but it began to be lacking due to the high popularity of the messenger – in 2021, the range of values (user IDs, bots, groups and channels) began to run out, and the service switched to int64. This happened in mid-September and was accompanied by the release of a customer update in the App Store and Google Play. But only now, a few months later, Telegram has updated its application in the App Gallery store for Huawei and HONOR smartphones without Google services. This was noticed by the profile portal Telegram Info.

On current Huawei devices and some HONOR smartphones, there are no Google services, that is, they cannot use Google Play – instead, there is a branded App Gallery store. Apart from third-party sites, it is the only way for the owners of these smartphones to download Telegram. That is why the developers of the messenger have released a new version, although the application has not been updated in the App Gallery for a long time.

You need to upgrade to Telegram 8.2.7 as soon as possible, since older versions in the Huawei store do not support int64 storage. In practice, this is important because users “remaining” in int32 will not be able to register a new account in the messenger (in the old client) and will lose the ability to register new bots, as well as create new groups and channels – they simply don’t have enough IDs.
