A 23-year-old resident of Moscow with an accomplice, under the pretext of investing in a crypto business, stole funds from eight residents of the resort city, reports RBC Crypto With reference to the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Runov.
The victims turned to the police, saying that under the loan agreements they transferred money to a friend to invest in cryptocurrency mining. According to them, the man constantly delayed the term of return of funds, as a result they did not receive money.
Police officers established the involvement of attackers in eight episodes of illegal activities totaling 126 million rubles, the report said. Anapa law enforcement officers detained the attacker at the place of his residence.
The police also found out that the Muscovite acted with his acquaintance from Krasnodar. The detainee is detained, and the accomplice was put on the federal wanted list.
The investigation department instituted a number of criminal cases on the grounds of fraud. The detainee faces up to 10 years in prison.
