A cyclist who hits a 5-year-old with her knee and throws her down will pay a compensation of… 1 euro

A Belgian cyclist pushed a 5-year-old girl on his knee because it blocked his way.

The incident has caused outrage in the country and the cyclist is now required to pay compensation to the family just 1 euro, due to the attacks he received on social media.

As we see in the video and was recently heard in the courtroom, the cyclist hitting the small alley in the park on Christmas day was intentional. He pushed her with his knee deliberately as he passed her.

The court of Verviers found him guilty, but punished him with a suspended sentence, due to the harsh criticism that the man received on social media.

The video was uploaded on social media by the girl’s father, Patrick Mpasa, who was filming his wife and two children.

The family went to the police, but uploaded the video online and the cyclist became the target of a fight. The judge ruled that the beating was intentional, but decided to punish him as lightly as possible, as he considered that the criticism leveled at him social media it was enough.

He sentenced him to pay a symbolic compensation of 1 euro to the family, considering that the time he spent in pre-trial detention was enough as a punishment.
