Customs officials at the German-Swiss border lost count when they started getting off a seven-seater car its passengers: a total of 23 people, of which 9 were adults.
In the car, a Seat Alhambra, they had managed to fit the members of an “extended family” traveling from Poland to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The vehicle was checked on Monday morning, German authorities said.
“Twenty-three people got out of the car“, described the police succinctly. There were 9 adults and 14 children.
The check took place at the Weil al-Rhine border station in south-west Germany.
To driver of the car, who is a permanent resident of Switzerland, will be fined for carrying so many passengers “without any guarantee of their safety”added the German police and relays the Athens News Agency.
