A 53 -year -old man found a 53 -year -old man in Brooklyn, New York, when a foldable staircase of the city’s Fire Service (FDNY) retreated as he was trying to escape a fire in an apartment building early Monday morning. The incident occurred shortly after 07:00 on Ninth Avenue Street number 3902 in the Sunset Park area. According to a video recorded by a passerby, the man seems to be trying to escape the third floor window, while smoke came out of the apartment. A firefighter waited for him at the top of the ladder to help him. In his attempt to climb the first step, the upper part of the staircase collapsed, causing the man falling from a high height, hitting a Delicatesen -type awning and eventually ending on the sidewalk.
