A new park was opened in New York a few days ago. Unique to the city in terms of design and architecture Little Island – an island with an area of about 10,000 m2, which was built on 132 concrete columns along the banks of the Hudson River. The drone video of the park was shown by YouTube user alexkarry.
The Little Island project was created by the Heatherwick Studio group of British designer Thomas Heatherwick, and the $ 260 million construction was provided by local businessman Barry Diller with his wife, fashion designer Diana von Furstenberg.
As Dezeen.com clarifies, the park began to be built back in 2016, but a legal battle with the public organization The City Club of New York delayed its creation.
The park is located in the south of Manhattan and is open to everyone. There are many paths, trees, three stages and a bar on the territory. The owner intends to use the infrastructure as a nightclub.

“I hope people will like it in 100 years. And if not, they can just blow it up,” Diller said at the opening of the “island” on May 21.
