Yesterday, March 30th, developers at People Can Fly released a Twitter post detailing the system requirements for their shooter Outriders. It turned out that the initial system requirements after optimization and testing of the game were decided to be increased – previously, to run the project in Full HD at 60 FPS, the developers required a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 480, and now this graph indicates the GTX 1070 video card, while the “red” ones are required RX Vega 56. Not to say that the difference between the required models is very noticeable, but these are, nevertheless, video cards of different levels of performance. On the other hand, this is only half of the bad news.
Outriders is now AVAILABLE FOR PRELOADING on Steam!

Gamers who want to play Outriders on ultra-graphics settings, and even in 2K resolution, will need to get an RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800XT graphics card. It is worth noting that this is the first game that specifies these flagship video cards in the system requirements – even the largest releases have so far managed to get by with less powerful counterparts. At the same time, fans noted that Outriders does not at all look like a game that requires an RTX 3080 – it significantly loses in detail, post-processing, shadows and lighting to other AAA releases that do not have such impressive system requirements.
Most likely, the matter is in poor content optimization, since many very attractive shooters in terms of graphics load the flagship model only in 4K. It is also worth noting that the shooter takes up 70 GB of disk space, and, most surprisingly, both variants of the system requirements indicate 16 GB of RAM. And the developers have also announced the exact release date – Outriders will be released on April 1 (no joke) at 19:00 Moscow time on PC, and console owners will have to wait until midnight.
Recommended system requirements (Full HD, 60 FPS, high graphics settings):
- processor: Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X;
- video card: NVIDIA GTX 1070 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB;
- RAM: 16 GB;
- memory: 70 GB;
- OS: Windows 10.
System requirements for ultra settings (2K, 60 FPS, ultra high graphics settings):
- processor: Intel Core i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 3700X;
- video card: NVIDIA RTX 3080 10 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT;
- RAM: 16 GB;
- memory: 70 GB;
- OS: Windows 10.
