A great demonstration of what happens when you are distracted while driving on your smartphone

To demonstrate what could go wrong during this time, Lexus invited volunteers to take part in a test drive of a modified Lexus NX 4.6 crossover. Its windows were covered with a special material with variable transparency, but people were not warned about this.

The purpose of this experiment is to show people how a driver “sees” the environment while driving, who is distracted by his smartphone. After subjects knocked down many figures of people and animals on the test track, they were asked two questions: “Do you like it when you can’t see the road?” and “Why are you doing this yourself?”

Everyone who took part in this experimental test drive was very surprised when they found out about the average time it takes a person to check their smartphone. Some have stated that they will no longer touch their smartphone while driving.
