A Greek man sold skewers in Davos for 20 euros each – What he says himself

A Greek was selling skewers in Davos, as part of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. The round pie, the so-called souvlaki, costs 19 francs (19 euros) and the box, as they call it, 23 francs. However, it should be noted that the minimum wage in Switzerland is 4 thousand euros.

“The company is based in Zurich. We go everywhere, wherever there is a festival, wherever there is an event, in general to everything. We are all over the country, we have four restaurants and 4-5 canteens,” the canteen employee told SKAI.

He added: “We are in Davos for a week. Here, we fight, feed the world and fill their bellies! Greeks and foreigners respect our tour very much. Mostly they are Americans, English, Indians, from all over the world.”

“We have pork gyro, chicken gyro, we have halloumi and vegan gyro,” the canteen employee also mentioned and explained “it’s like gyro, like meat, but it’s with peas and fava beans.”

Regarding the prices, the employee emphasizes that the prices in Davos are a bit… “special”. The pie costs 19 francs (19 euros) and the box, as they call it, 23 francs.
