A “heartbreaking” day in Indianapolis, gunman kills eight and commits suicide

Eight people were shot dead in the incident at the offices of the courier company FedeX in Indianapolis, USA. The perpetrator opened fire, killing eight people and injuring others before committing suicide, according to police.

District police spokeswoman Gina Cook said authorities estimate that there is no longer an active threat to public safety, according to AMPE.

“Today is a heartbreaking day, the agents of the Annapolis police department answered the call, went to the spot and did their job,” he added.

The incident occurred yesterday Thursday, late at night, at FedEx offices in Mirabel Road of Indianapolis, near the city’s international airport.

Cook said four people had been admitted to hospitals, one of whom was in critical condition with gunshot wounds, while three others had various injuries.

Cook said two other injured people received first aid at the scene and were allowed to return home, while many others went to local hospitals alone.

“My heart is broken “I’m praying for all those affected by this tragedy,” said Sen. Andre Carson of Indiana. “I am in contact with the local authorities to find out all the details of the attack and my office is cooperating with the authorities.”
