The 2018 movie sequence Blake Lively 37, “a small favor”, is scheduled to premiere as an opening film of the Sxsw festival In Austin, Texas, next month, according to a statement issued on Tuesday (4).
Thriller-Comedy brings back to Lively’s co-star Anna Kendrick, and the director PAUL FEIG (“Godmother Mission”).
The plot follows Stephanie Smots (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) on a trip to Capri’s island, Italy’s island for Emily’s luxurious marriage to a rich Italian businessman, according to the official synopsis.
“Among the glamorous guests, it also expects the right presence of murder and betrayal in a wedding full of twists – more winding than the Marina Grande Road to Capri’s central square.”
Andrew rannells (“Girls”), Elizabeth Perkins (“Weeds), Henry Golding (“Rich Rich”) and Allison Janney (“The diplomat”), among others, complete the cast of the new movie.
The news of Lively’s next project comes as she is involved in a legal dispute in progress related to her 2024 film “That’s how it ends,” film adaptation of the 2016 popular Hoover novel that premiered last summer.
In December, Lively accused his co-star and director of the film Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation in a complaint initially filed to the California Department of Civil Rights, preceding a civil action that followed about a week later.
Baldoni denied Livell’s allegations And he filed a lawsuit against her and her husband Ryan Reynolds last month, accusing them of civil extortion, defamation and privacy invasion. He also filed a defamation action against the New York Times, which was the first to report Lively’s complaint.
A first hearing about the dispute between the stars took place on Monday (3). The trial date is currently scheduled for spring of 2026 .
“A little favor 2” will debut in March 7 when the SXSW festival begins, and will be available for streaming on May 1st at Prime video .
