A long-awaited feature has appeared in Android Auto, but in Russia it is prohibited while driving

The car platform Android Auto plans to be the new game console for motorists – at least for those who don’t mind playing casual HTML5 games. The fact is that in the beta version of Android Auto version 6.7 there is a new shortcut called GameSnacks, which provides access to a small collection of simple video games with which the driver can entertain himself. It’s worth recalling that GameSnacks is a carefully curated collection of HTML5 games designed specifically for low-power systems with intermittent internet connections, which is directly overseen by Google.

And in the current beta version of Android Auto, these games are already running on the display of the multimedia system. However, users have already doubted the need for this function – of course, it is forbidden to play while driving, since it is banally unsafe even in traffic jams. Accordingly, the driver will be able to appreciate the colorful worlds of simple video games only if the car is stationary and not moving anywhere. But in this case, nothing prevents you from taking a smartphone in order to play the same games with greater comfort, or launch something more worthy. It is difficult to imagine a scenario in which playing on a car display would be more comfortable than on a smartphone screen.

It is for this reason that the release of casual games in beta has been an amazing experience for many users, because no one actually asked Google for it. On the other hand, the company’s work in this direction cannot but rejoice – right now the search giant is investing a lot of resources to improve Android Auto, as well as to refine its own Android Automotive operating system, which will be installed on cars in the future. This year alone, it is planned to release more than a dozen cars on this OS, and this is just the beginning of Google’s path in this direction.
