A man had 2 kidneys in his body that weighed 45 kilos – “They were constantly growing”

An operation that saved his life was performed a man from Windsor, Britain who, according to doctors, had the largest kidneys in the world. Warren Higgs suffered from a disease that caused his kidneys to grow to enormous size. Eventually he removed both as his life was in imminent danger.

The 52-year-old had polycystic kidney disease, which meant his kidneys were still growing.. This put enormous pressure on his internal organs and left him largely immobile and in constant pain.

His condition caused him three strokes that left him paralyzed on one side.

However, he states that he is determined to return to his previous hobby to participate in a triathlon race while he returned to the gym after his surgery.

The kidneys weighed… 45 kg

He stated, as reported by Metro, that the removed kidneys weighed 45 kilos and the huge, swollen abdomen he had before, has almost disappeared.

“The operation went well and I am slowly recovering,” says Warren. “I was told that there was a 50/50 chance that I would die as a result of the operation, but it was successful and now I am recovering.

“What makes it unimaginably difficult for me is to do dialysis. I find it completely exhausting. “

The next stage is another operation to restore a kidney, which the 52-year-old hopes will happen in the new year. «Do not go beyond the bells that can show you what the problem is“, He stated

The man reported that his left kidney was 42 cm by 27 cm and his right kidney was 49 cm by 28 cm.

Warren is now on the road to recovery, but waiting for a new kidney is a real stressful situation.

“I feel much better, I’m still trying to lose weight after surgery,” he says.

“I go to the gym when I can, sometimes before I do dialysis. It’s difficult because I do not know when a kidney will be available. There was one, but the doctors said it was too soon after surgery to be ready for it.
