A man set himself on fire today outside the federal courthouse in Lausanne of Switzerland and is hospitalized in critical conditionaccording to Swiss media and as relayed by the Athens News Agency.
It is about a man aged about 50 years who, after poured flammable liquid on his clothes, set himself on fire in the afternoon on the steps of the courthouse, according to Swiss newspaper reports citing police sources.
“Mail was found in his bag suggesting he was determined to end his life.”, the spokesman for the police in Lausanne, Antoine Gaulet, told the newspaper 24 Heures. Court officials rushed to put out the fire with fire extinguishers and the man was taken to hospital with serious burns.
So far, it remains unclear the reason that led him to this dishonorable act.
