A minute of silence in Japan – The memories of the triple tragedy of 2011 are erased

Those who have lived it, even on the other side of the Earth, can not forget it: Ten years are completed today by the strong earthquake of 9 Richter in Japan, which caused a tsunami that swept the Japanese coast and also caused the nuclear disaster in Fukushima. The calendar showed March 11, 2011.

The triple catastrophe that struck Japan exactly ten years ago left behind 18,500 dead and missingmainly due to seismic waves.

The nuclear accident at the Fukushima power plant Daiichi has made entire cities uninhabited for years, displacing tens of thousands of people, according to AMPE.

“Even today, it is unbearable to think about the victims or how those who lost their loved ones feel,” said Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga at a ceremony marking the anniversary.

He vowed that his government would continue to help the affected people rebuild their lives and assured that Japan, one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world, would never forget the lessons learned from the disaster.
