A Maryland mother injured her 3-year-old daughter by nailing her to a pair of scissors in the neck on Saturday. And then she turned the scissors on herself.
According to the police announcement, 28-year-old Anne Akers is now accused of attempted murder for the attack on the little girl that took place inside their house.
Police alerted a relative who visited the house that morning and saw blood on the floor.
Police officers who answered the call found Akers on the bedroom floor, cuddling with a blanket. The wound in her neck was open.
The police tried to give her first aid when they pulled her blanket, the whole tragic event was revealed: under the blanket was the 3-year-old daughter with a “life-threatening” wound to the neck.
