Let’s immediately clear the field of any misunderstandings: this is not an exclusive club, but a connected network.
Vanity Fairon the occasion of March 8, presents Changemaker, a network of women who have changed the rules of the game with a social impact: a group with which to focus on new scenarios and visions of a possible future, unhinging prejudices and suggesting virtuous actions (and winners).
Then that this company is composed, from the outset, only of women is a will: we know that on the labor market the gender gap it still makes itself felt, despite the fact that young women study more than men today (57.1% of graduates and 55.4% of university students are women) and with better performances (53.1% graduate in the course of , against 48.2% of men). But then – who knows why – the women who work are numerically lower, they hardly hold positions of responsibility and usually earn less. Underrepresented in top positions, they tend to fall victim to overeducation, that is to say that, even when they have a job, they often carry out tasks for which a lower educational qualification than theirs would be sufficient. According to World Economic Forumthe global gender gap is widening and it may take until 2133 to close the wage gap between men and women.
So let’s subvert the order and start from the women who, at work, have made it, who have revolutionized schemes, each in her own way, in her field and with her path. We understand how they managed it, what their strengths were, their vulnerabilities, studies and opportunities taken on the fly. With them we will talk about environmental leadership, coaching and (reverse) mentoring, innovation, talents and social impact. We will do this by meeting them all, one by one, on the occasion of open webinars: live online interviews, where each of you can ask questions and be inspired (you will find the access links on our website).
The idea then is that this group will strengthen and become larger, capable of creating a reference to help those in need. From the next issue of Vanity Fair we will begin to widen the circle and these will be our first 20 changemakers to suggest new names whose story we will tell, but if you should have proposals and candidacies you can write them here: [email protected]. We will be happy to get bigger and bigger.
Meanwhile, here are the first, in alphabetical order: Arianna Alessi, Tinny Andreatta, Paola Bonomo, Cristiana Capotondi, Laura Carafoli, Marina Cuollo, Charity Dago, Valentina De Santis, Giustina Destro, Daniela Fatarella, Maura Gancitano, Cristina Nonino, Claudia Parzani, Francesca Pasinelli, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Chiara Sbarigia, Donatella Sciuto, Claudia Segre, Virginia Valsecchi, Carolina Vergnano.
