A new record has been set on the Kickstarter platform. Yesterday ended a fundraising campaign for four new books by Brandon Sanderson, an American fantasy writer.

Within a month, Sanderson’s project raised $41.75 million. For comparison, the previous record was set back in 2015, when 20.3 million were collected for Pebble Time watches. By the way, Sanderson’s campaign broke this record in the first three days.

Interestingly, Sanderson was raising money for four books about which he said little. They were listed as secret projects. It is only known that three of them will relate to the universe of Cosmer, in which at the moment there are already more than a dozen books, stories and comics.
The books being funded were written by the author during the COVID-19 pandemic, so fans won’t have to wait long – all books will be published next year.
