Canadian developer and cybersecurity specialist Tommy Mysk noticed that the Amazon website began to use a new type of captcha – the characters on it linearly move horizontally from right to left (like a running text line), and noise is randomly displayed on top of them.
His commentators expressed different opinions, but most often it is negative: for example, one of them noted that this type of captcha is more annoying than usual (apparently, since the symbol can be missed, and then you have to wait for its next appearance). There is also an assumption that this captcha will be even simpler for bots, since only the noise changes on it – you can save the captcha frame by frame and “glue” the characters when they are not overlapped by interfering objects.
In fact, captchas are very different – a separate article was published about them on the Treshbox. But the moving captcha seems to be really something new, at least among the super-popular swits.
