A patient with a Neuralink neurochip showed his skills

A man implanted with a Neuralink chip has learned to control a computer using his thoughts. He demonstrated your skills while broadcasting on media platform X.

Nolan Arbaugh, 29, is the first patient to undergo the Neuralink implant procedure. During the broadcast, he revealed that he was paralyzed in a scuba diving accident.

After the operation, Arbo learned to operate a computer and play video games using technology that Elon Musk had previously described as a “form of telepathy”.

“The operation was very easy. I was literally discharged from the hospital a day later. I don’t have any cognitive impairment,” Arbaugh said.

According to the patient, the technology is not yet perfect, but it can change the lives of many people.

Former director of the neuroengineering program at the US National Institutes of Health Kip Ludwig believesthat the demonstrated results “cannot be called a breakthrough.”

“It's still very early in the process after implantation, and there's a lot of work to be done on both Neuralink's and the subject's part,” he added.

However, Ludwig noted that this is a positive thing for patients – they are able to interact with the computer in a way that they could not before the operation.
