From 19 to 23 October 2021, the 15th international exhibition “Interpolitex” dedicated to security solutions was held at the Crocus Expo Exhibition Center (Moscow). Within the framework of it, the enterprises of “Rostec” presented their products – there were only three exhibits from the state corporation.
Attack-Rustle module, which recognizes drones and crowds of people by sound
Drones have become one of the main security concerns – drones can be used for both espionage and terrorism, and even toy copters from a children’s store (to which either a camera or explosives are attached) are suitable for these purposes. Many existing systems for countering drones use the principle of electronic jamming of onboard sensors of drones, but this method of countermeasures sometimes does not work on small models flying in radio silence.
The new Ataka-Shorokh acoustic reconnaissance module tracks drones by sound thanks to ultra-sensitive microphones, special electronics, neural networks and artificial intelligence. Such a system has already proven its capabilities in practice – the module has successfully passed tests against the background of noise acoustic interference. In addition to drones, the novelty can recognize other things thanks to its characteristic sounds: street fights, traffic accidents and crowds of people.
Device for preventing arcing of electrical wiring
Damaged electrical wiring is recognized as one of the main causes of fire – all due to dangerous electric arcs that lead to arcing in the circuit. Electric arcs always occur during normal operation of an electrical installation – for example, when a person turns on the lighting, an electric arc forms between the contacts. With a large current, it becomes continuous, and its temperature can reach 6,000 degrees Celsius and even exceed this value. If an arc fault occurs, a spark is generated – in other words, an arc fault can cause a fire.
A new arc fault protection device (ARC) detects normal arcs, and automatically disconnects the mains from power when a current with an abnormal waveform is detected. One ultrasonic detector is installed in the electrical panel and can control the electrical network of the premises with an area of up to 150 m². The novelty has already been tested and recommended for use – Ruselectronics has begun production of a device for household power grids and is preparing to deliver the first 100 thousand units by the end of the year, and in 2022 it intends to produce up to 1 million units.
Wasp non-lethal pistols for self-defense
Also “Rostec” showed the complex of non-lethal action “Wasp”, which includes a barrelless pistol for four or two charges and cartridges of traumatic or light and sound action. The first of the bullets described above can neutralize the attacker, while not inflicting serious bodily harm on him (if you shoot at a distance of one meter and do not aim at the head).
In turn, light and sound cartridges can both temporarily blind the attacker (from 5 to 30 seconds), and give a signal with a loud sound (140 dB at a distance of one meter) and a very bright flash. According to Rostec, NIIPKh, which is developing the Osa complex, is a leader in the production of light and sound grenades for the Russian special services.
