A poll on VKontakte showed which subjects schoolchildren consider the most useless

The social network VKontakte decided to find out which subjects schoolchildren consider useless, and which ones are most in demand and will study them even during the summer holidays. To find out, the social network conducted a survey among its users.

More than 800 VKontakte users aged 14 to 18 took part in the survey. The respondents were asked to choose the most useless subjects from the school curriculum in their opinion, as well as to tell what subjects they plan to pull up in the summer and how much time they are going to spend on additional classes.

The survey respondents named music, history of religion and painting as the most useless school subjects. Every tenth respondent voted for physical education. And about a third of schoolchildren believe that all knowledge from the school curriculum can be useful to them in the future.

If we talk about additional classes in the school curriculum in the summer, then a fifth of the respondents plan to devote 1-2 hours a week to study. 18% of the respondents will allocate 3-4 hours a week for these purposes, and only 7% of schoolchildren said that they are going to study 5-6 hours a week. Most of the schoolchildren who are determined to study are girls.

The ranking of the most in-demand subjects for additional classes during the holidays is headed by foreign languages. They are followed by mathematics and Russian. And Russian schoolchildren showed the least interest in geography.
