Looking at the world from a different perspective, stimulating new emotions, strengthening one’s passions: only great cinema has the power to do all this. And the magic of cinema was at the center of one speciale Priceless Experience that Mastercard has organized to inspire and support new generation directors. Organized during the 78th Venice Biennale International Film Festival, it featured the new generation director and screenwriter Margherita Ferri, already winner of several awards such as that of Biennale College Cinema in 2018, with her feature film “Zen on thin ice”.
L’Experience he brought together cinema, art and fashion. Surprisingly, Margherita Ferri discovered that she could experience the Venice Film Festival from a new perspective, surrounded by beauty and talent. A gondola ride at sunset, the starry creations of the Caffè Quadri in Piazza San Marco, the halls of the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta and a tour of the beauties of the Doge’s Palace, these were just some of the moments that the director was able to experience. And then, of course, a lot of space at the cinema, with the possibility of previewing and parading on the red carpet of the most anticipated international film, Dune, in a bespoke dress made for her by Tiziano Guardini, the eco-fashion designer winner of the first edition of the Franca Sozzani ai Green carpet Fashion Awards.
And it doesn’t stop there. The central engine of the five Venetian days was the dialogue with the actress and director Valeria Golino. In fact, Margherita Ferri had the unique opportunity to become a journalist for a stimulating discussion with the award-winning actress and director on the challenges to be faced in the world of cinema: from gender equality in the world of the film industry to the different directing techniques. «Don’t look for the shot that is right for you, always look for the best one for your actors, watch them as much as possible. Everyone is beautiful if you look at them enough », Valeria Golino’s advice. An injection of optimism and confidence, after a difficult year: «This experience has completely changed my perspective. I found myself immersed in beauty, and beauty gives inspiration », Margherita’s comment.
