A purse, a queen, and birds

We are not even at the end of January, but this is already a candidate to be the most original, eccentric and fun royal bag of 2023. To wear it, the crowned head in our unquestionable judgment most glamorous of the old continent, or the queen Maxima of Holland.

Who, if not the fun, colorful and always smiling sovereign of South American origins could have worn with such nonchalanceindeed, an all-gold clutch closed by two surprising… budgerigars?

Of course, the occasion lent itself: together with her husband, King William Alexander, and her daughter Caterina Amalia, the queen glided into the Caribbean for a royal tour of a few days. Already on the second day of her visit, the sovereign visited the Taste of Bonaire Festival: in a relaxed and amused atmosphere, between music, dances, meetings, tropical cocktails and delicious tastings, the sovereign showed off an all-white look sleeveless, already irresistibly informal in itself, but made even more perfect, precisely, by the much-admired clutch.

It is a creation of the Lebanese brand Sarah’s Bag, which for a few hundred euros offers decidedly original clutches and pochettes. However, the all-gold one is not found on the brand’s website adorned with a pair of blue and green inseparables worn by Queen Maxima. In fact, the most attentive observers of vintage royal style remember having glimpsed the original clutch in the hands of the sovereign in the now distant 2018. But there are other valid and equally ironic alternatives.
