Sources say that after the Volkswagen ID.3 compact hatchback, the Volkswagen ID.4 crossover and the Volkswagen ID.5 coupe, the well-known manufacturer will release a more affordable model for a wider audience called the Volkswagen ID.2.
This urban crossover should be built on the MEB modular platform, and its dimensions can be compared to the T-Cross model. Thanks to the absence of an internal combustion engine, the interior of the Volkswagen ID.2 will be larger than that of the T-Cross.
It is reported that the Volkswagen ID.2 will be equipped with brand new lithium iron phosphate batteries that will be 50% cheaper than existing ones. This should have a positive effect on the price of the car, which today remains the main deterrent from buying an electric car as a new vehicle for a family.

In terms of design, the Volkswagen ID.2 will be similar to the previously released models of this line. It will be available with electric motors of various capacities, as well as batteries with a capacity of 30 to 45 kWh, which will provide a range of 190 to 290 km.
Volkswagen concept ID.2 should be shown next week at the Munich Motor Show. The serial sample will be presented in 2023, and sales should begin in 2025 at a price of 20,000 euros.
It is clear that the German automotive giant is working hard to become a leader in the EV market, which is growing rapidly every year.
