Let’s start with the prices. As part of the crowdfunding campaign, the smartphone can be pre-ordered for $ 700. There were lots of $ 600, but they were quickly sold out. In retail, the device will cost $ 1,000. The authors of the project do not report the exact timing of the start of deliveries, but they say that it is worth focusing on a year after the end of the campaign. True, they add that they began to ship their previous device five months ahead of schedule.

The dimensions of the smartphone are 130 x 103 x 22 mm with a mass of 147 g. That is, it is rather big, but lightweight. At the same time, it has a round display with a diameter of only 3.45 inches and with a resolution of only 800 x 800 pixels. Considering the rather high price, it looks a little strange.

The heart is an unnamed Qualcomm platform, there is no 5G support here. There are 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash storage, and this is eMMC. There is also a microSD slot, a 13-megapixel camera, two headphone jacks, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, an NFC module, two USB ports (USB 2.0 and USB 3.0), a temperature sensor and a battery with a capacity of only 2000 mAh. True, with a tiny screen, this may be enough. Cyrcle Phone 2.0 is running Android 10, but it is unclear whether the developers will update their device before entering the market, because it will be released when the market is already dominated by Android 12.

But the parameters are not the main thing here. At the forefront, of course, is the basic concept associated with form. The creators of the smartphone even offer everyone to download the corresponding file and print the case on a 3D printer in order to try on the device before purchasing.

The authors of the project also focus on the fact that the body of the smartphone is made of corn-based plastic, and the buttons are made of recycled plastic.

In addition, the smartphone shell offers a windowed function for applications. Moreover, the size of the windows can be changed, and the windows themselves can be moved around the display. With a round screen, such a function will obviously not be superfluous. True, the screen size is already small, and applications in windowed mode are getting even smaller.

As for the campaign, less than $ 15,000 has now been raised, although the developers only wanted $ 10,000.
