F6 specialists discovered a fraudulent scheme with a promise of passive earnings on investments in a digital ruble.
It spreads on several sites created on a uniform template and registered in the period from March 18 to April 4.
On the page, users see the logo of the digital ruble and a chat boot with a “personal manager”, who reports on the possibility of “income from 100,000 rubles from the first days”.
The minimum amount of “investment” is 10,000 rubles.
Further, under the pretext of calculating the potential earnings of the User, they ask to answer a number of questions indicating age, citizenship, status in the labor market, financial purpose and income range.
Also, the chatbot requests the name, surname and contact phone number. In the future, attackers use this information when calling citizens, convincing them to introduce a “deposit”. Any transfers will lead to complete loss of invested funds, experts warned.
The law on digital ruble entered into force on August 1, 2023. Over 30 banks and companies participated in CBDC testing. At their request, the mass launch of the new form of national currency was postponed for an indefinite period planned for July 1, 2025.
Recall that in the summer of 2024, fraudsters forced the Russians to transfer funds into a digital ruble allegedly due to the fact that cash and non -cash calculations have lost their relevance.
