A school for all children: MYTILINEOS supports the educational programs of SKEP. in Boeotia

With special sensitivity to the human & social values ​​of the local communities, the MYTILINEOS Company supports the implementation of the Educational Program for Information & Familiarity with Disability “I learn to see the Man” of SKEP, in 11 schools of the Prefecture of Viotia and specifically in the Municipality of Distomo, Arachova, Antikyra. The systematic and targeted actions of information and awareness of SKEP. in the school context, they aim to change the behavior and mentality of students / three regarding disability, which will lead us to a school for all children.

Through an Open Dialogue of Awakening & Awareness between animators / speakers of SKEP. with disabilities, students & teachers, the Educational Program seeks to create the appropriate conditions so that students:

To strengthen their ability to identify & deconstruct bad practices, stereotypes, prejudices.
To function in the future as conscious citizens and as a dynamic lever of change within society as a whole.

MYTILINEOS’s vision and values, in addition to achieving corporate goals and sustainable excellence, contribute to respect for the environment and society. With the aim of strengthening and educating the local community, the Company chose the innovative educational program of SKEP. to contribute to the change of attitude and mentality regarding diversity and disability. By awakening the students of general education and consequently their direct and indirect environment, the appropriate perspectives are created for the sensitization & awareness of the wider population, with the ultimate goal of ensuring and fulfilling the basic rights of people with disabilities.

The Educational Program “I learn to see Man” of SKEP. is successfully implemented since 2009 and is under the approval of the Ministry of Education and Religions.
