As it became known, there are unpatched vulnerabilities in Samsung smartphones, which were discovered by the founder of the cybersecurity company Oversecured Sergey Toshin.
This security breach allows hackers to access SMS messages on a number of Samsung devices. However, this is not the worst news. There are two other vulnerabilities that allow hackers to manipulate any file. The South Korean manufacturer has already been informed, but the corresponding update will appear no earlier than two months later.
Since the beginning of the year, Toshin has discovered more vulnerabilities. But most of them were eliminated almost immediately. In particular, vulnerabilities were discovered in Samsung Secure Folder and Knox, through which it was also possible to gain access to confidential user data. At that time, it was reported that several smartphone models were susceptible to hacking, including the Samsung Galaxy S10 +.
There have been no confirmed hacks worldwide, and users need to be sure that their sensitive information is not at risk. We addressed the potential vulnerability by developing and releasing security patches through software updates in April and May 2021, as soon as we identified the issue.
